The suspension of the combined remote operating licence took effect immediately on 21 September 2026. The licence, number 000422-R-336567-002, covers online casino, sports betting and virtual event betting. Targetlocal Ltd operates the website kenhowells.com.

Section 116 review of the Targetlocal Ltd licence

Commission enquiries found failings in the company’s anti-money laundering controls. The regulator is now reviewing the licence under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005.

The Commission has set a condition rather than a date. The suspension will stay in place until the Commission is satisfied the business is compliant.

Withdrawals stay open for kenhowells.com customers

Customers can still access their accounts and withdraw their funds while the suspension lasts. The operator is expected to treat customers fairly and keep them informed of developments affecting them.

One licence is untouched. The company’s non-remote general betting standard licence is not affected by the suspension.
